Beyond the Bar Scholarship Foundation, Inc. is a collaborative effort between New Rock Legal Society, Newton County Bar Association, Rockdale County Bar Association and Walton County Bar Association for the benefit of graduating high school seniors that will further their education in an accredited college or technical school.

Eligible candidates are graduating high school seniors that reside and attend a high school in either, Newton, Rockdale or Walton County. Candidates will submit a completed application, essay and provide a high school transcript to Beyond the Bar Scholarship Foundation by 4:00 pm on Friday, March 28, 2025.

The 2025 Law Day theme is “The Constitution’s Promise: Out of Many, One.” The Constitution enshrines our collective responsibility to one another, and the 2025 Law Day theme urges us to take pride in a Constitution that bridges our differences to bring us together as a united nation. Our Civic lives tie us together as one “We,” whether through legislative efforts that serve the common good, through military service, or by working together, every day, to fulfill the promise of E pluribus unum, or “Out of many, one.”

On a separate sheet of paper please write an essay (250 – 500 words) concerning the unity of one as many: what civic duties do you see tying strangers together, what common good fulfills this promise of E pluribus unum in our nation, and what challenges do you see on the horizon for maintaining our Constitution to bridge our differences?
